Justin's Soccer Game! 4-09

Justin's soccer game was awesome. It was quite a contrast from the pre-school aged game earlier in the day. Justin got to play goalie for the first part of the game. He did great, especially because it was his first time in that position. He kept the other team from scoring twice. I was on my feet screaming like crazy. It was only 45 degrees at his game and raining, but it was so much fun. Justin LOVED it. I am so glad he decided to give soccer another chance. He hated it the first year he played when he was Ryan's age. Ever since playing football, Justin has gotten so much better at all the other sports. His football coach was so awesome.

Justin went on to play a defencive position and a forward position later in the game. However, it was raining so hard by then we didn't want to risk ruining the camera trying to get pictures. He was amazing on the field. He went from saying, "I think I'll play soccer to keep in shape for when I start football in August" to "soccer ROCKS". Go Justin!!!

Ryan's 1st Soccer Game! 4-09

Ryan had fun practicing kicking the ball in to the goal before the game started.
It was 48 degrees outside and very windy. Ryan kept on complaining it was too cold to be outside. Justin went and sat in the car. My mom had Joshua and Jacob thankfully.
Ryan got to kick off in his first ever soccer game. He was so excited!
Then all the children from both teams surrounded the ball like a herd of crazy animals.
Ryan stopped and yelled to us that someone had pushed him. For the rest of the game he stayed back from the rest of the players and kept trying to leave the field. Finally, with 3 minutes to go in the game he walked off the field towards the car. I asked him where he was going and he said, "it's too cold and I all done for today".

So, apparently soccer was not his thing. I hope he will like it better next Saturday when it is warmer. If not, that's fine with me.

Oops, we got the wrong child!

Has anyone noticed that our third child does not match our family. The other 3 boys have dark hair and eyes like their daddy. Then there's Joshua with ghostly white skin, bright blue eyes and lighter hair. Hum, is he the product of the milk man? Just kidding of course!!! But seriously, look at the four boys on the side of my blog, he does look out of place, doesn't he? Now, I think Jeff and I need to add a girl that looks like Joshua so he doesn't look out of place anymore. What do you think?

My Babies! 4-09

Joshua and Jacob are so cute together. Joshua just idealizes his brother and is constantly trying to hug, kiss, pick up or otherwise maul Jacob. Jacob I think is terrorized most of the time, but he does give his big brother some of his very biggest smiles. They are only 19 months apart so I hope they grow up to be best buds.

Easter Egg Decorating! 4-09

This is the first year Joshua really enjoyed Easter egg coloring. He was so cute!
Ryan was very precise with his decorating this year. I asked him, "How did you get to be such a good egg decorator". He said, "Mrs. Eby taught me to be a GREAT artist you know". Mrs. Eby is his much loved preschool teacher.
Justin did 12 of the 24 eggs all by himself. He was sad when they were all done.
This is one of my favorite traditions we do as a family. Jeff did a few really good eggs, but I was so focused on the kids I forgot to take any pictures.
Our darling little Jacob slept in his car seat on the counter the whole time. What a good baby!

More Decorating! 4-09

Joshua got more dye in his mouth than he got of the eggs.
Ryan really got into the mood to decorate this year. In fact, he keeps asking if we can do it again.
Justin always love egg decorating. He has since he was a baby.
Joshua was very concerned about his messy hands. Good thing he couldn't see his face.

A Spiritual Weekend! 3-09

The last weekend in March was a spiritual one. We had Justin's baptism on Saturday and Jacob's blessing on Sunday. Justin Michael 8, Ryan Daniel 5, Joshua Isaac almost 2 and Jacob Matthew 3 months.

Jacob's Blessing! 3-09

Jacob Matthew Goodey on his blessing day. He is a sweet baby and we are so happy to have him in our family. We call him Cubby or The Cub.
Justabug and Cubby
Ryanoserous and The Cub.
Joshy Squashy and Cubby
Here are my four boys. Ryan was mad because he didn't get to hold Jacob on his lap for the picture.

Justin's Baptism! 3-09

Justin was so excited to get baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jeff was just as excited to baptize him. He had done other baptisms on his mission, but he said there was something special about baptizing his own son.
I can't believe my little baby is 8 years old. It seems like just a few days ago he was as little as Jacob. I am so happy and honored to be his mother. He is a great kid!
Thanks to the 42 family an friends that came on Justin's special day. A special thanks to Grandma Goodey, Uncle Jared, Grandpa Goodey and Aunt Amy for being in the program. Also, a special thanks to Grammy for making the food for 42 people.

Cub Scouts! 3-09

Justin is now a Cub Scout. He loves going to the weekly den meetings and the monthly pack meetings. He loves Thursdays because that means he get to go to Scouts.

What a Mess! 2-09

This is what happens at my house if you leave a box of Cheerios on the table. Joshua is quite the little mess maker, but we love him anyway!

Ryan's 5th Birthday! 3-09

Ryan loved his baseball cake. He said, "awesome" when he saw it for the first time.
We were taking a picture of the cake so Ryan hopped up on the counter and started posing for the camera.
Ryan got to break open the pinata after everyone got a turn. Then it was a mad dash for the candy.
Jeff told Ryan to make a wish before he blew out the candles. Ryan said, "I wish for short hair" and then blew. When we were doing his hair for his party, he wanted to have it spiky. I told him it was too long for spikes. So, he wished for short hair. He got his wish because we got his hair cut 3 days later.
Ryan is so into Star Wars action figures. He was so excited to get a battle pack for his birthday.

I can't believe Ryan is already 5 years old. Where does the time go? Happy Birthday Ryan!

Justin's 8th Birthday Party 3-09

I can't believe Justin is 8. We had a fun birthday party for him. It was crazy and loud with 12 boys, but really fun. Happy Birthday Justin!
