Joshy meets Mr. Yuck 1-09

Joshy's hospital bracelet, a baggy full of Plendil and my mom's pill box.
The baggy has the pill parts in it that he spit out. I am very thankful that Plendil has such a bitter taste. Otherwise, we may have lost our little Joshua

Joshua got into my mom's pills while visiting at her house. Luckily, he only put one pill in his mouth and then spit it out. We called poison control and they told us to take him to the AF hospital. The pill he put in his mouth was called Plendil and it is a strong blood pressure medicine that is quite fatal at even a half a pill to a person his size. We found almost 3/4 of the pill and took it with us. We were only in the emergency room for less than an hour. He was fine. In fact, he had quite a good time pushing the doctor's chair all over the room and eating a red lolly pop. My mom and I were panicked the whole ride to the hospital. I gave the posision control guy the wrong telephone number for my mom's house. My voice was shaking and I couldn't think straight. I am so happy it all turned out so well, but it sure was a scare. We love our little Joshy and we are so happy he is healthy and happy.

oh my heck!! I am so glad that everything is o.k. My mother and father in law have pills in their home and my father in law has a heart condition where it sometimes stops and he has these pills where if it stops or sputters he can take this pill and it will jump start his heart again and my little nephew ate one of these pills. They ended up with an ambulance ride and pumping his stomach. Ever since then I don't allow my kids in their room.

I am glad all is well in your home!

Your mom was telling about that. I'm glad he's OK. That's a scary thing, those kids are fast!

When Scout was his age she figured out how to open the childproof bottles of allergy medicine. I walked into the bathroom and she had them dumped out on the floor looking at them. I told her no and started picking them up. Once she realized I wasn't letting her play with them she started shoveling them into her mouth and swallowing as fast as she could. I counted them up and think there were only a couple missing, so didn't do anything about it (I probably should have, oh well). She was just really sleepy the rest of the day.

Been there, done that, well...kind of, I accidentally give Dallin more medicine than what the prescription called for. It was so scary and we were in Virginia for vacations. Not fun! I freaked out, and I couldn't even explain to the poison control people what happened. Wade had to take the phone and explained.
It was nothing, he throw up and I was checking on him all night long.
Horrible feeling, I'm so glad he was ok.
At least it makes for a good blog post, ha!
